There are several things that a person is going to want to avoid in order to have good health.

Sugar

The first thing is sugar. This is going to be especially true about artificial sugar because of the aspartame inside of it. Therefore, you are going to need to be aware of some of the foods that could be packages like candy bars or even granola bars. Sugar is going to weaken a person’s immune system. This means that your body is going to have to worker harder so you are going to be a lot more likely to get sick. But you can eat fresh fruit that contain sugar.

Stress

The second thing is stress. This means that sometimes a person is just going to need to take some time to decompress so that they don’t get too stressed out. This is going to be especially true during the holidays. Therefore, you are going to need to listen to your body and if it is telling you that you are too tired, then you need to rest. There are a few ways that you can avoid stress like making to list to help you to stay organized, plan out your meals ahead of time, and not doing everything that you are asked to do.

Drinking

The third thing is drinking. It is not going to hurt to have a glass of wine sometimes but when you drink a lot, it is going to effect the body’s immune system. This is because the alcohol is going to dehydrate the body so that the immune system is very weak. This means that you can be very prone to catch an illness. This is also going to be true if you drink a lot of caffeine. Therefore, you are going to need to drink a lot of water so that you are going to be able to stay hydrated instead of the coffee or alcohol.

Smoking

The fourth thing is smoking. Most of the time, the person is going to have a lot more colds than other people if they smoke. Even when a person is around another person who smokes for a long period of time, it is going to cause their immune system to be weaker. Therefore, it might be a good time to make a New Year’s resolution to quit smoking so that you will be able to become healthier. If there is someone in your life that smokes than you are going to need to try to stay away from them while they are smoking.

Processed Foods

The fifth thing is processed foods. This is because of these foods are going to be full of sugar and white carbs. This is something else that is going to make your body to work harder so your immune system is going to be vulnerable to sickness. It is a good idea to buy a lot of vegetables and fruits when you are at the grocery store along with some red peppers and kale. All of these things are going to have some Vitamin A and C. Some of the other types of foods that you will be able to eat are salmon and yogurt. The salmon has Omega-3 fatty acids that can help fight inflammation inside of the body and yogurt with some sugar is the healthy bacteria that your immune system needs.

Cold Medications

The sixth thing is to make sure that you are not taking too much medications for your cold. Most of the time, when you are taking something over the counter, then it is just going to mask some of the symptoms of the cold. This means that once you have stopped the medication, then you are probably going to get sick all over again. But if you use something like a Neti Pot or eat with chicken soup, then you are going to feel better. You can also use an humidifier inside of the bedroom while you are sleeping.

Negatively

The seventh thing is being negative. This means that no matter what is going on your life, you are going to need to try to stay positive about things. Basically, this means that you are going to be changing your outlook on life so that you are not going to get sick. Therefore, when you are having a tough day, you are going to need to focus on the good things in your life. The better your thoughts are, the better your immune system is going to feel. It is a fact that it takes more muscles to frown than to flash someone a smile.
